Bit Usage Instructions

Rules of use

  • Use only rotary tools that are in good technical condition.
  • Mount the tool in accordance with the instructions for nail drills.
Mount the tool as coaxially as possible.
  • Work at the rotational speed recommended for the given tool; if the recommended speed cannot be achieved, replace the tool.
  • Wear protective goggles.
  • Adjust the rotational speed to the speeds recommended by the manufacturer of the nail drill in use, to the material being worked on, and to the individual skills of the operator. The manufacturer recommends working within the following rotational speeds appropriate for the product: up to size 023 – 7,000–15,000 rpm; bits larger than size 023 – 20,000–35,000 rpm.

Sterilization and cleaning

Before first use, disinfect the instruments in a disinfectant for 30 minutes. Do not use disinfectants based on active oxygen.
After each use, remove all organic particles. Then clean the instruments ultrasonically or under running water. Repeat if necessary. After cleaning, dry the tool; otherwise it may corrode. Sterilize the instruments under the following conditions:

  • at an overpressure of 1 atm at a temperature of 121°C for 15 minutes, or at 2 atm at a temperature of 132–134°C for 5 minutes.

Product lifespan

The product lifespan is the period during which its full functional properties are retained. The loss of any of them (defects in the diamond grit or nickel coating, deformations) qualifies the product for immediate removal from use.

Eliminating defective tools

  • Do not use tools with a bent shank (vibrations).
  • Do not use tools showing signs of corrosion (risk of fragmentation of the nickel coating as well as the diamond grit, and risk of infection).
  • Do not use blunt tools (thermal effects, vibrations).

How to store the tools

Store in a dry place not exposed to sunlight. After removing the tool from its original packaging, store it under conditions that protect against dirt and mechanical damage.
