Combined e-file manicure – what is it and why is it worth it?
Every woman wants healthy, well-groomed hands adorned with beautiful nails. It might seem that doing a durable and attractive styling takes a lot of time. What does it look like in reality?
You've surely heard more than once about the e-file, combined and nipper-free manicure. So many different names, yet a common topic and goal – perfectly working the nail and cuticles. In an era of such a wide choice of tools, we can actually choose equipment perfectly personalised to our work style. Thanks to this, the time it takes to do a perfect styling is reduced to a minimum, and we – or our clients – can enjoy beautiful nails.
What is an e-file, combined, nipper-free manicure?
An e-file manicure is by definition intended to work both the cuticles and the nail plate without the use of sharp tools. The nail drill opens up many possibilities for us, as it lets us remove old product and comprehensively prepare the nails for new styling. It's also worth mentioning that a combined manicure translates into the durability of the styling and allows perfect painting "under the cuticles".
Each stage of doing the nails is characterised by an individual choice of bits. Various shapes and types of them are available on the market. We'll use different bits to work the cuticles and the product.
Which cuticle bits will be ideal?
Each shape gives us completely different possibilities. That's exactly why it's so important to get to know them, because used in the right order they'll let us move quickly and easily through the cuticle-work stage.
Cuticle bits that work best:
- Cylinders and cones – this type of shape handles pushing back the cuticles and getting rid of the epidermis phenomenally.
- Flames – specialists in lifting and cleaning the folds.
- Balls – ideal for finishing the work, they remove calluses on the fingertips brilliantly.
Bits for removing product
Depending on whether we're dealing with an infill or applying new styling, this stage is conventionally listed first in this post. The bits for removing old product we use are most often made of sintered carbide or ceramic. As for their shape, they can be pine cones, cylinders, thicker teardrops or umbrella-like shapes with a rounded tip, and so on. In the Combo set you'll find the sintered carbide bit mentioned above.
It's not without reason that the combined, e-file or so-called nipper-free manicure has gained its popularity and has become almost permanently rooted in the world of nail styling.
