Sintered carbide bit (143.220.050) with thick cross-cuts is used for working on hard skin and nails – it is ideal in podiatry for removing thickened skin and corns (skill level 4/5). It works well for removing very hard materials, removing acrylic, and working on thickened nails. Works both dry and with water cooling.

Remember to clean and sterilize the tool before first and every subsequent use.

Sterilization and cleaning

Before first use, disinfect the instruments in a disinfectant solution for 30 minutes. Do not use disinfectants based on active oxygen.
After each use, remove any organic particles. Then clean the instruments ultrasonically or under running water. Repeat if necessary. After cleaning, dry the tool, otherwise it may corrode. Sterilize the instruments under the following conditions:

at 1 atm overpressure at 121°C for 15 minutes, or at 2 atm at 132–134°C for 5 minutes.
