Description

Ceramic ball bit for cuticle removal (Z001 HP 018) made from zirconium oxide is a true specialist tool – it heats up less and is resistant to mechanical damage (skill level 1/5, blue marker). It is ideal for removing calluses, overgrown cuticle flaps and hangnails, and the ball shape works well for removing dead epidermis around the lateral nail fold and the nail rim. Thanks to its material it is also an excellent choice for people with metal allergies. It can be used both dry and with water cooling.

In podiatry this bit is used for removing corns, calluses and hard corns. Different types of cuts allow it to be matched to your needs: a blue marker for safe cuticle removal, and yellow and red for polishing – without the risk of disturbing or overheating the natural nail plate.

Sterilization and cleaning

Before first use, disinfect the instruments in a disinfectant solution for 30 minutes. Do not use disinfectants based on active oxygen.
After each use, remove any organic particles. Then clean the instruments ultrasonically or under running water. Repeat if necessary. After cleaning, dry the tool, otherwise it may corrode. Sterilize the instruments under the following conditions:

at 1 atm overpressure at 121°C for 15 minutes, or at 2 atm at 132–134°C for 5 minutes.
