Description

Diamond ball bit (001.524) is by far the most popular bit shape, available in sizes from 1 mm to 2.7 mm – smaller balls work great in sinuses, while larger ones are ideal for removing the flap of skin. Thanks to its gentleness (skill level 1.5/5) and blue band, it allows incredible control when removing dead epidermis, deposits, and cuticles at the lateral nail fold and nail rim. It also works well for pushing back and away cuticles, pre-removing epidermis, working on gel and acrylic in the fold area, and smoothing the step between the natural nail plate and the nail service.

Choosing a larger ball diameter will handle the problem of flattened lateral folds perfectly, while a smaller one is ideal for combination manicure. The bit can be sterilised in an autoclave – remember to clean and sterilise the tool before each use.

Sterilization and cleaning

Before first use, disinfect the instruments in a disinfectant solution for 30 minutes. Do not use disinfectants based on active oxygen.
After each use, remove any organic particles. Then clean the instruments ultrasonically or under running water. Repeat if necessary. After cleaning, dry the tool, otherwise it may corrode. Sterilize the instruments under the following conditions:

at 1 atm overpressure at 121°C for 15 minutes, or at 2 atm at 132–134°C for 5 minutes.
